Yes, parking can be free—but only if you park in the Tour Center lot, and only in the section that’s newly paved and has the antique-style streetlights. Make sure you’re in that part of the lot to avoid any issues.
If you park along the walking route (on the street), you’ll have to pay at a meter. Rates usually run around $2 to $3 per hour.
To make things easier, download the Pay by Phone app from the App Store or Google Play before you come. It’s the fastest way to handle metered parking.
