Cuyahoga Valley National Park was designated as a national recreation area in 1974 and later redesignated as a national park in 2000 to preserve and protect the natural, cultural, and recreational resources found in the Cuyahoga River Valley.
The area was recognized for its significant ecological value, diverse landscapes, historical sites, and recreational opportunities.
Designating it as a national park ensures its conservation and provides the public with the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the natural beauty and historical significance of the Cuyahoga Valley!
The park also plays a role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of life for nearby communities.
