While driving the famous Road to Hana on Maui, there are several things you should avoid doing to ensure a safe and enjoyable journey. First and foremost, it's essential not to rush; the road is narrow and winding, with many hairpin turns, so speeding is dangerous.

Additionally, you should not attempt to overtake other vehicles in unsafe places, as there are limited passing opportunities. It's also advised not to stop your vehicle abruptly on the narrow road, which can create traffic congestion and hazards.

Avoid leaving trash behind and be respectful of the environment. Lastly, swimming in certain areas along the road can be risky due to strong currents, so exercise caution and adhere to posted warnings.
